Saturday April 8th I'll be joining a slew of local makers at LAB MPLS's The Collective.
I'll be playing a few fun roles during the event. I'll be live painting one of my noodles pieces for the full event, I'll post a follow-up to the experience and end-results but keep an eye on my instagram for some live stories at the event. I have never live painted before and am a little nervous. I'm used to painting around folks as I share a studio with 3 other businesses but I'm new to painting while being watched. I'm excited to try something new and see the outcome of it all. Let's hope for the event's sake I make some good progress on the piece otherwise we will all literally be watching paint dry.
I will also a part of the speaking roster and will give a short talk at 3pm, "Permission to Play" where I will be explore the misconceptions of perfection, how to get started in your next creative season, and tools for playing. I will have a number of paintings, prints, zipper pouches, and NEW pillows to purchase as well. Swing on by if you can and if you like cool things.
From their site,
"...we are hosting an event comprised of curated local businesses and makers called The Collective. This will be held at Loring Social located on the main level of LAB Headquarters. The Collective is beyond your typical pop-up – it’s a modern marketplace – an interactive experience to shop local. In addition there will be a schedule of discussions led by local business owners sharing their passion, experiences, and artistry. Our goal with The Collective is for you to join us in our mission, which is to create, connect, and collaborate."
